It started with a concert journal in May 2011. Already covering eleven years and a wide musical palette, this journal continues to grow, reaching over 1700 pages and more than a million words. Many couldn't understand why such a fountain of musical experience remained unread, so in January 2020, Moths and Giraffes was born.
Originally created with the idea of sharing some of these experiences, Moths and Giraffes has become so much more. Although there are concert recollections scattered through these articles, there are also single and album reviews, with the occasional career retrospective too. Almost all of our pieces feature exclusive interview material with the artists to gain more insight into their creative world.
Our writing will never stick to one genre of music. The clue is in the name. Some music is like chalk and cheese, or in this case - Moths and Giraffes.
